The Middle Pane.
When to use
The area to the right from the Sidebar is the main display area.
Instructions
The middle area is much more dynamic than the sidebar, because depending on your actions it will display different elements. When you select a Notebook, select a tag, or issue a search, it displays your Notes. If you click Notebooks, Tags, or Work Chat items on the Sidebar, the middle area displays your Notebook or Tag structures or list of your Chats respectively.
We will discuss Notebook or Tag structures in the upcoming lessons. For now, let’s look at a number of ways you can display your Notes in the middle pane area.
At the very top of the middle pane you can choose to see your Notes by Notebook or Tag (click the Notebook or Tag icon and select what you are looking for).
If there are Notes with reminders, they will appear at the very top of the Notes list. You will have an option to display or collapse the list of the Notes with the reminders. By clicking on the little gear icon in the right hand side corner of the middle pane, you’ll be able to:
- Sort the reminder by date,
- See upcoming reminders, and
- See recently completed reminders.
Change subscription settings to specify if you want to be notified about the reminders or not.
If you click on the little rectangular icon next to the tag icon and right above the little gear icon, you’ll see a dropdown to choose to display your Notes in Card, Expanded Card, Snippet, Side List, or Top List view. Play with them and see what view you like the most.
In the same drop down you also have an option to deselect the Notes that weren’t created by you. For that you’ll need to select from the drop down menu My Notes. To display all Notes, choose All Notes.
To see the Notes in the last Notebook you opened, simply click “Notes” on the Sidebar. If you want to change Notebook without leaving the middle area, click on the little arrow next the name of the Notebook at the top of the middle area and pick another Notebook from the dropdown menu.
Last but not least, you have a choice to sort the Notes by date created, date modified, size, and many other parameters.
You can perform the same operations when you click on View item on the main menu.
