Creating Notebook Table of Contents.
When to use
Creating a Table of Contents is a fantastic way to bundle links to individual notes into a single Note.
Instructions
Evernote allows us to create links to individual Notes into a single Table of Contents Note with just a click.
It ensures easy access to specific Notes within that Notebook as well as being able to see the contents of the Notebook at a glance.
Creating a Notebook Table of Contents Note is very easy:
- You select the Notes you want to include into a Table of Contents.
- In the options window that will appear on the right, select the option Create Table of Contents Note. This option will then generate individual links for each of your selected notes and place them in a new Note.
Please note that you can create table of contents of ANY selected Notes, which means that you don’t have to select all Notes within a Notebook or even select Notes that belong to a single Notebook.
It’s also important to note that the Note links that will be created in the Table of Contents Note are always listed in the order the Notes were listed in the middle pane, on the list of Notes. Even if you select the Notes for the Table of Contents in a specific order, Evernote will still list the corresponding links in the other Note the way they were listed in the middle pane. However, you can move the Note links in the Table of Contents by simply dragging them up or down.
If you want to have quick access to your Table of Contents Note, you can always set a reminder for it--pin the Note to the top of the Notes in the Notebook the Table of Contents was created. Or add it to your Shortcuts.
