When to use
When searching in Evernote, use search operators to narrow down your search.
Just like with the basic search, you’ll enter the search operator in the search bar.
Here are the most common search operators:
notebook: Allows you to search for notes stored in the specified notebook.
notebook: Templates will only search for notes stored in the Templates notebook.
tag: Allows you to search for notes tagged with the specified tag.
tag: blog idea will return notes that have the tag “blog idea.”
-tag: Allows you to search for notes not tagged with the specified tag.
-tag: blog idea will return notes that do not have the tag “blog idea.”
intitle: Allows you to search within the title of the note.
intitle: testimonial searches for notes that contains “testimonial” in the title
any: Will return notes that match any of the search terms. Without this operator, Evernote search will return only those notes that match all of the given search terms.
any: client long-term will return all notes containing either “client” or “long-term” (removing any: would return only notes containing “client” and “long-term”).
