When to use
Skitch is an amazing tool to grab and annotate images and send them into Evernote. It’s very handy to give instructions, draw attention to something, or save an image as an idea or inspiration.
Instructions
To download Skitch, go to Evernote’s main site, hit “Products,” and select Skitch from the list. Evernote will ask you to confirm which browser you’re using. And walk you through the rest of the steps.
Skitch allows you to:
- Grab screenshots of entire pages or specified parts of pages
- Annotate images--use arrows to draw attention to specific parts of the image or grey out parts that you don’t want to show: Snap a new image by tapping the camera icon once you launch Skitch, or choose an existing image to edit by tapping the photo image on the home screen or in Evernote. From there, you can resize images by pinching in and out.
- Add an explanation--use items like the pencil, arrow, finger and text icons. Select your color by tapping the color circle in the lower left-hand corner of the app.
- Snap images--Skitch has a camera feature, so you can use it to take actual photos.
By default, your Skitch images are saved in Evernote. If you go to Skitch > Preferences, you can specify:
- If you want to save your Skitch images into Evernote automatically or manually.
- The Notebook where your images should be saved.
- How often you want your Skitch to sync with Evernote.
