Instructions
Manage information
As a student you’ve got to be prepared to manage massive amounts of information. Evernote is a great central place for all that information, and it’s easy to add information from different sources and in various formats.
You can:
●Copy info to the clipboard and paste it into a Note
●Drag and drop single and multiple documents
●Manually or automatically forward e-mails
●Add links to Google Drive and Dropbox documents
●Use the Web Clipper to clip articles, URLs, or entire web pages directly from your browser
On the go and don’t have access to the Internet? That’s okay. Jot down thoughts or ideas using the Evernote app on your phone. Your info will be synced the moment you’re back online.
Avoid a messy Evernote account by structuring your information.
Create a Notebook and give it the name of your class or paper. If you’ll need more than one Notebook, make sure that you put them into a single Stack. Of course, you can also use tags to be able to run more general or more specific searches.
Manage schedule
A structure that will keep you accountable is crucial for the success of a student.
Developing a weekly task list is the best way to keep things running smoothly. You don’t need one that ties you down to a minute-by-minute schedule. But you do need to have a list of everything that you need to do on a weekly basis, so nothing gets left off, and you have some idea of how much of what needs to be done by when.
Get into the habit of ending (or starting) your week with a weekly review Examine what’s been accomplished during the week, re-assign due dates for assignments that didn’t get completed, and record items that never made it to the list. Look at upcoming exams, evaluate the rest of your workload, and, if necessary, make adjustments.
Manage collaborators
If you have group assignments, share the parts that everyone is responsible for and the due dates to ensure that everyone will be able to get their part done on time.
●Create and share a group assignment Notebook with those who’ll be helping you. On the main task list, assign individual tasks by putting the name of the assignee before the task.
●Create reminders for individual task Notes by clicking the little clock icon in the right upper corner of the note and setting a date.
●Use “Work Chat” feature for discussions (when you are online at the same time).
●Share with them your Evernote incoming email and ask your groups members to use it in addition to the main e-mail when sending emails to you.
Using Evernote to manage your studies will make you feel more focused, effective, and empowered.
