When to use
Evernote is one mighty tool. Pick something that you do that requires remembering or storing information and play with ways to use Evernote to manage that activity.
Instructions
You can use Evernote in a variety, often not very obvious, ways:
1.Capture ideas on the go. You already know that you can quickly create text Notes thanks to the fact that Evernote is accessible on all devices and you can use it even if you are offline. But have you tried audio Notes and reminders for yourself?
2.Collect gift ideas. Regardless whether we need gift ideas for our relatives or clients, it might be very frustrating to come up with something on the fly. Simply collect gift ideas into Evernote all year around and pull up the list to choose from when necessary.
3.Use your Evernote email address to subscribe to newsletters. That way the emails will appear in Evernote instead, keeping your inbox clutter free.
4.Keep your medical records. There is medical information that we need on a regular basis and details that we need to provide when we change doctors. If you keep that information in Evernote, it will be that much easier to you to reference anything you need.
5.Keep snapshots of anything that you don’t buy regularly, but need to have records of like tech parts or medication labels.
6.Create lists of everything: grocery, goals, to-dos, ideas, projects, people to keep in touch with, clients that you work with, your bucket list, etc.
7.Remember important dates, like birthdays (simply create a Note to specify what date you want to remember and action to take on that day and set a reminder for it)
8.Save copies of all kind of important documents like contracts, warranties, or certificates. Take photos of them or save them as PDFs and save them to Evernote. That way you have important information handy with you no matter where you go. In fact, with Evernote you can go entirely paperless.
There are as many uses of Evernote as there are Evernote users. Now it’s your turn to put it to work.

- 00:08 So in this lesson,
- 00:09 we are going to take a look at a few unconventional uses of Evernote.
- 00:14 Let's start with capturing ideas on the go.
- 00:18 You already know that you can quickly create text notes,
- 00:22 thanks to the fact that Evernote is accessible on different devices.
- 00:26 And you can use Evernote even when you are offline.
- 00:30 But I'm going to take it one step further.
- 00:35 And next time you're in a hurry, create an audio note for yourself.
- 00:40 So, you'll need to simply click on this little mic right here, and
- 00:44 you will be able to create an audio reminder for yourself.
- 00:48 And just play the back when you need to properly record that idea,
- 00:53 or to make sure that you don't forget something that's you need to do.
- 00:58 Evernote is also great for collecting gift ideas.
- 01:02 You know that it can get very frustrating to come up with a gift idea on the fly.
- 01:09 So, if you collect gift ideas into Evernote all year around, you can pull
- 01:14 up the list when you need to, and select an appropriate gift for for that person.
- 01:20 You can use Evernote email address to subscribe to newsletters.
- 01:26 That way the emails will appear in Evernote and keep your inbox clutter free.
- 01:31 If you've been receiving receiving lots of emails,
- 01:34 you know that this will make a huge difference.
- 01:38 Also, try Evernote to keep your medical records.
- 01:43 There is this medical information that we need on a regular basis, or
- 01:48 details we need to provide when we change doctors, or
- 01:52 we need to look up something very quickly.
- 01:55 So if you keep that information in Evernote, it will be so
- 01:59 much easier for you to reference anything you need.
- 02:03 You can also keep snapshots of anything that you don't buy regularly,
- 02:09 but you need to have records of.
- 02:11 And that can be different check parts or medical labels.
- 02:17 So instead of bringing that with you to the store, you can simply take a snapshot,
- 02:22 save it in Evernote, and then show it to the salesperson.
- 02:26 And actually, creating lists of everything, grocery lists,
- 02:31 goals, to-do lists, projects, people to keep in touch with,
- 02:36 clients you work with, your bucket list.
- 02:39 So, anything list related can be saved in Evernote.
- 02:44 Also, you will be able to remember important dates, like birthdays,
- 02:48 if you save them in Evernote.
- 02:51 So what you will need to do, is to create a note and
- 02:55 send a set a reminder for yourself not to forget about it, and
- 03:00 this will help you to remember everything that you don't want to forget about.
- 03:07 And last but not least, save copies of important
- 03:12 documents like contracts, warranties, or certificates.
- 03:16 You can again take photos of them, or save them as pdf's in Evernote.
- 03:23 And actually, if you keep doing that, you can go completely paperless with Evernote.
- 03:30 So you can see that Evernote is one mighty tool.
- 03:35 Just pick something that you do that requires remembering or
- 03:39 storing information, and play with ways to use Evernote to manage that activity.
