What is the easiest way to create a PivotTable?
Select your data > Turn it into an official Excel Table > Insert > PivotTable
Select a cell inside your data range > Insert > PivotTable
Go to Insert > PivotTable > Select your data
Assume that our data source has only three fields: Class (containing Alcohol and Food), Category (Appetizers, Bottled Beer, etc…) and Sales $. How would you configure the PivotTable shown below?
Class on Columns, Category on Rows, Sales $ on Values
Category on Rows, Sales on Rows, Class on Columns
Class on Rows, Category on Columns, Sales $ on Values
An important concept of PivotTables is to realize that the data is not “live”. What is the fastest way to refresh the data in this PivotTable (only) to ensure that it is up to date?
Select a cell in the PivotTable > Data tab > Refresh > Refresh
Right-click any cell in the PivotTable and choose Refresh
Close and re-open the file
