About this lesson
We conclude this course with a recap and some final thoughts.
Quick reference
Best Wishes for a Lifetime of Stories
You already know how to tell stories — now it's just about doing it with intention, clarity, and purpose.
You’ve Got the Skills — Now Use Them
- Storytelling is a natural human skill — this course helped you sharpen it for professional use.
- You don’t need to “become” a storyteller. You already are one.
- The real challenge is applying that skill in meetings, pitches, presentations, and other business settings.
The Core Storytelling Formula
- Start with a clear goal: What do you want the audience to do?
- Choose messages that will help motivate them.
- For each message, tell a short, real story. Use these ingredients:
- A real character (ideally, you)
- A challenge or problem
- Dialogue and emotion
- A resolution
- A takeaway or lesson
Your Stories Will Grow With You
- As your experience grows, your story library grows.
- Practice, refine, and repeat. The more you use stories, the easier it gets.
- Let storytelling become second nature — part of how you communicate, persuade, and lead.
Parting Words
- Thanks for joining the course — your commitment shows you’re ready to lead with stories.
- Good luck! Keep telling stories that inform, inspire, and drive action.
- 00:04 Wow, you've done it.
- 00:06 Our journey is reaching an end.
- 00:09 I appreciate you spending this time with me to really build your storytelling abilities, but I hope what you really took away from this course is you already have the ability to tell a story.
- 00:22 You just have to think about it and structure it and focus on it when you're trying to do so for a specific business or professional purpose.
- 00:32 And the basics are pretty simple.
- 00:35 Ask yourself, what are you trying to get the audience to do?
- 00:38 What messages will really motivate them to do that?
- 00:42 And then for each message, tell a simple story involving a conversation between a couple of characters, ideally you.
- 00:53 What was the problem?
- 00:54 How did you feel?
- 00:55 How was it solved?
- 00:57 What were the emotions involved?
- 00:59 What were the challenges?
- 01:00 And ultimately, how was it resolved?
- 01:04 And what's the lesson that you took away and that you think others do?
- 01:08 Do that, do that consistently, and you will be a master storyteller.
- 01:14 Good luck.
