When to use
We share a form in a Teams channel whenever we want channel members to interact with the form.
Instructions
Share a Form in a Teams Channel
- Click the App Launcher.
- Click Teams.
- Choose a team channel to share the form in.
- Click the plus (+) button at the top of the page.
- Search for Forms.
- Click to add the Forms application to Teams.
From here we can choose to create a new shared form OR we can share an existing form.
- Click Add an existing form.
- Choose the form you want to share.
We can choose what we want others to be able to do with the form from the drop-down menu: Collect responses, Show results, or Collaborate.
Collect responses: Allow team members to respond to the form.
Show results: Show team members the results of the form.
Collaborate: Work with others to build the form.
- Select Collect responses.
- Tick the box next to Post to the channel about this tab.
- Click Save.
The form will now be loaded into its own tab in the channel.
- Right-click on the tab to see more options.
- Rename the tab if required.
The form is now available for all channel members to respond to. The form will be permanently available in its own channel tab until the tab is deleted.
Create an Adhoc Form in a Channel
It might be that we want to post a form to the channel and collect responses but we don't necessarily want it to be available permanently at the top of the page.
- Click the New conversation button at the bottom of the page.
- Click the three dots.
- Search for the Forms app.
- Create a question and add the options.
- Click Preview to see what the form looks like.
- Click Send.
The form will now be posted to the channel and channel members can respond.
