When to Use
When writing to ask for professional consideration or specific help.
Typical purposes for letters of request or inquiry include:
- Inquiring about an opportunity or to follow-up on a meeting
- Requesting information, either from customers or from industry colleagues
- Asking for a favor from business peers or other stakeholders
- Seeking a contribution of money, time, goods, etc
Email may be used for the some of these purposes, when recipient is an email contact.
