1. What is a registered trademark?
A word, phrase, logo or combination that has been legally registered as being in fair business use with a proper authority.
A word or phrase with a ® symbol behind it.
Anything with the ™ symbol behind it.
2. How should a trademark be indicated in written materials?
In most cases, a company will set all of its own rules about brand standards.
In most cases, it should appear in the first and most prominent use on the page, but other intellectual property rules may apply.
The word “trademark” should appear as a footnote at the bottom of any page containing a known trademarked word or phrase.
3. Which of these are examples of the main ways companies convey their brand ownership in writing?
On the internet, via websites and digital media.
The use of logos.
Company literature, websites, and on products and packaging.
