1. What is the process for adding an audio clip to a Keynote slide?
Right-click on the audio file itself and choose “Add to Keynote Slide”.
Drag and drop the audio file onto the canvas.
Right-click on the canvas and choose “Insert audio clip”, then browse for the file to insert.
2. If we have a 5-minute audio clip, how do we trim the clip so that we only play part of it from the middle?
We would need to edit the audio file in GarageBand or Logic Pro first, then insert the new audio file.
After we highlight the audio clip, we simply use the trim sliders on the “Audio” tab of the formatting pane to adjust our start and end playheads.
After we highlight the audio file, we can go to Edit > Trim Audio Clip. Keynote will automatically trim the audio clip to our liking.
3. In order for an audio file to play on a slide, where does the icon need to reside?
It can be located anywhere on or off the canvas for that slide. If it’s on the canvas, it will not be displayed when we show our presentation.
It needs to be located in the center of the slide.
All audio files need to be cataloged at the beginning of the slide deck and marked to play on a specific slide number.
