1. Why would we want to set a password for a Keynote file?
Passwords should be set on all Keynote files, regardless of the contents.
If the file contains more than 10 slides.
If the file contains sensitive information that may be opened by an unauthorized user.
2. How do we remove a password from a Keynote file?
By going to File > Set Password… and clicking the “Remove Password” option.
By converting the Keynote file to PowerPoint then back to Keynote again.
Once a password has been set, it cannot be removed. It is hard-coded into the file.
3. What happens if I forget the password for my Keynote file?
Right-click on the file and choose the “Reset Password” option.
Call Apple and ask them to reset the password for you.
The file is lost forever. There is no way to gain access to it if you forgot the password.
