1. What reason would be the benefit to Store Emails Outside of Outlook?
Easy to relocate later.
No reason, plus it’s more work.
To keep with the related client or topical files/documents/graphics in one location, rather than digging through Outlook separately.
2. Can an Outlook .pst file be opened with a simple double-click like the Excel .csv file type?
Yes, but it takes some work.
Just use the Excel file type because it’s easiest.
No, the Outlook .pst file has to be “imported” in order to open the emails.
3. At what point does it make sense to store emails outside of Outlook?
Usually at the end of a big project when the files are being organized for archive purposes.
Do this every day so you get good at it.
When the files get too big.
