The timeline provides a graphical visualization of your project. The timeline is excellent for reviewing the project’s implementation plan from within PowerPoint or in emails.

Working with the Timeline
The timeline is a special view that appears directly under the tabs. The timeline provides a graphical visualization of your project. The timeline is excellent for reviewing the project’s implementation plan from within PowerPoint or in emails.
To access the timeline, follow these steps:
- Click the View tab, and then select the Timeline checkbox.
- Right-click a task and select the Add to timeline menu item.
- Milestones display outside the boundaries of the timeline.
- Tasks appear inside the boundaries of the timeline, but you can click-and-drag the task outside the boundaries, creating what Microsoft Project calls a callout.
