1. Why would someone use Captions?
No need because you can see the picture beside the text anyway.
To put captions on photos.
To caption a picture or figure and enable it to link to text or a Table of Figures.
2. Is a cross reference required when using captions?
Just hand-type it all. It worked in the early 1900s and it will work now.
No, only if you want clickable links and reference labels to appear within the text.
Yes, you must use the full strength of the tool.
3. What type of objects can captions be connected to?
Pictures, Tables, Equations, Photos, almost anything that requires a label.
Just the items on the label list: Figures, Tables, Equations.
Just pictures since that is all the video showed.
