1. Why are there so many field codes available on the Insert Merge Field when doing an email merge?
It’s crazy and there are way too many to choose from.
An email merge uses Outlook Contacts which contain over 100 available information fields.
Because it tries to give every possible option of fields.
2. What does the video say may go wrong when choosing from Outlook contacts?
If something goes wrong, it must be user error.
You will get an error message that doesn’t make sense.
If Outlook is currently open, it won’t be able to share the database and you will get an error message. Close Outlook, try it again.
3. At “Finish and Merge”, why would the emails process but not send immediately?
Outlook is closed and Word is still using the Contact file. So the emails won’t SEND until you close Word and re-open Outlook.
Because Outlook is closed. Open it right away.
Really? Why is this so much work?
