What is Smart Preview in Lightroom?
A mode of editing with proxy media.
Where the images are color corrected automatically.
A smaller version of images that you can keep on a laptop hard drive.
When importing Photos into Lightroom, why place the photos in an external drive, and the catalogue on your laptop drive?
Because the catalogue has more resolution in the images
So that you automatically create a back of your images.
So that you can save space on the Laptop Drive while retaining editing capabilities.
What does the small black box at the top of this Catalogue image indicate?
That the full size Image is off-line (not connected).
That the Image has been deleted.
That the Smart Preview is turned on.
