1. Before we set up our PivotTables, we should ensure that the data is in good form. Which of the following should NEVER be included in a PivotTable data source?
Blank rows and columns.
Header rows on our tables.
2. Which of the following statements is true?
Data consistency is entirely optional in a column.
Data types should be consistent down all rows of a column except the header, which can be text.
Data types should be consistent down all rows of a column including the header row.
3. Why is it preferable to set the PivotTable to point at an Excel table, rather than a range of cells?
The Excel table has a name. This allows verification that all data is being pulled into the PivotTable as you can select the name from the drop down list and jump straight to the data being used.
It really doesn’t make a difference.
The Excel table automatically expands when new data is added. Since the PivotTable is pointed at the table, new data will never be missed.
