What is a good starting point to approach a speech or presentation?
Asking yourself what you want to gain from your speech.
Writing down what action you want the audience to take when you have finished speaking, e.g. approve a budget, vote for you, invest capital in your business.
Picturing yourself concluding your speech to applause from the audience.
Before you start writing your speech, what should you do?
Write three paragraphs with three ideas, and edit them until you get it right.
Brainstorm all the ideas you can think of that are relevant to your topic and might interest the audience.
Think about what ideas you care about.
Why is it a bad idea to go straight to writing a speech without any prior preparation?
