What magical phrase for every speech is mentioned in the video?
“For example”, followed by a relevant example.
“I'm here to help you with...”.
When giving a speech, is it better to use abstract or specific examples?
A mix of specific and abstract.
Be specific. Give interesting and relevant examples specific to the topic and audience.
Be as abstract and general as possible.
What if I can’t think of any examples for a particular point?
Use that point anyway without providing examples.
Ask your friends and colleagues for help.
If you can’t think of any relevant examples, consider that the point is not important after all. If it is an important point there must be something relevant and specific that you can use to explain it to the audience.
