1. How long should your speech be?
As short as possible, so you should talk faster to get it over with.
As long as it takes to communicate your messages while being interesting and memorable.
2. What if you have a very restrictive time limit to deliver a presentation?
Ask the organizer if you can have more time.
Start out talking at a normal pace, then rush through the second half of your speech to fit your time limit.
Select your key ideas to focus on and time yourself practicing on video so that you know you can deliver a good presentation within the time allotted.
3. What if you prepare for a 20 minute speech, but at the last minute are told you only have 10 minutes?
Figure out which points can be eliminated and which points to focus on, and deliver those points with interesting examples and stories.
