1. Which Agile/Scrum roles are involved in Backlog Refinement?
Refinement is done as the last step of the Sprint Demo and all member of the Scrum Team, the Scrum Master, Product Owner and invited guests participate.
It is conducted by the Product Owner and they can request input from anyone else if needed.
Backlog Refinement is calculated by the Scrum Master and Finance and using a ratio of product cost and the Burn Down rate. From the Burn Down Chart.
2. What is the restriction concerning adding new Stories to the Product Backlog during Refinement?
Any new stories must be based upon gaps or defects identified during the Sprint Demo
Stories are accepted or rejected at the sole discretion of the Product Owner - there are no other restrictions.
New Stories must be reviewed and approved by Senior management before they can be added to the Product Backlog.
3. During Backlog Refinement, which fields of a Story Card can be changed?
The priority and category can be changed, but the Story and Demo Criteria cannot be changed.
Any field containing input by the Product Owner can be changed – the Story, Demo Criteria, Priority, Category, or Notes.
New Story Cards can be added, but information on existing Story Cards cannot be changed once the Story Card has been entered onto the Product Backlog.
