Focus on the team goal and not the uncertainty.

Call a break and discuss the situation with the team and the source of distraction.
Shield the rest of the team from the source of distraction and the team leader deals directly with it.
Set an example for the team by ignoring the distraction and trust that it will soon go away.
3. How does multi-tasking cause delays?
A new task is started before the first is finished and other tasks that are dependent upon the first task are then delayed waiting for the individual to come back to finish the first task.
Multi-tasking ignores priorities, so high priority tasks are not done first.
Multi-tasking does not cause delays; rather it accelerates work because more tasks can be moving forward at the same time...
