1. Why would you want to change the hue and saturation of an image to represent night?
Because our eyes adjust to the streetlights .
Because lower levels of light reflect less vibrant colors.
Because Adjustment Layers need color information to work.
2. What is a quick way to make the sky in this image transparent (while leaving the clouds and leaves in place)?
Use the quick selection tool.
Use the Blend If function, set to affect only blue colors.
Create a Masking Layer and paint in the transparent sections.
3. To quickly fill a selection with the foreground color you can:
Use the fill tool.
Create a shape in a new layer and clip it to the selection layer.
Hold down the Command or Control key and press delete.
