1. Why is it important to know your product inside out before writing a press release about it?
Because unless you know your product inside out, you can’t tell which information you must convey to your audience.
Because your audience relies on you to inform them about your product.
Because if you don’t know about your product no one else will care to know.
2. If a new member of staff was asked to write a press release, what would the likely outcome be and why?
The press release would be a failure because the new member of staff is unlikely to have enough product and company knowledge to write a good press release.
The press release would be really good because the new member of staff is highly experienced even though he/she doesn’t know much about the product or the company.
The press release would be ok because the new member of staff will be given enough time to find out about the product and the company.
3. Explain the interaction between product and customers in the writing of a press release.
Customers will be buying your product.
Each product is designed with a specific subset of your customer base in mind, and the relative subset should be addressed in your press release.
When writing about your product, your priority is to please customers.
