2. When rehearsing, what will give you an accurate idea of how long it takes you to deliver your speech?
Rehearse on video. You will be able to see the exact length of your presentation and even the timing of individual points.
Looking down at the watch on your wrist every so often.
Time yourself reading your speech silently to yourself.
3. Should you ever keep talking past your allotted time?
You should respect other people’s valuable time as well as your own.
You should always finish early.
Use your best judgment depending on the circumstances. If people are interested and not in a hurry, you can go over the time limit. However if they have other obligations, you shouldn’t.
