Using Genie allowed us to take our own internal expertise and turn it into impactful, bite-sized learning in a fraction of time. It’s transformed how we deliver compliance training online across our sites.

— Andre Hollings, Senior Training Manager at ARD Logistics

For Andre Hollings, Senior Training Manager at ARD Logistics, the biggest obstacle to compliance wasn't a lack of interest — it was a lack of time.

ARD Logistics is a high-speed, third-party logistics (3PL) firm providing assembly and freight solutions for global multinationals. In this environment, operations never stop, and for leaders on the floor, blocking out hours for a training seminar is often an impossible ask.

“I get a lot of leaders saying, ‘I don’t have time in the day to do it,’” Andre explains. This is the central friction of modern compliance: the tension between the necessity of the training and the reality of a distributed, busy workforce.

ARD began using GoSkills in 2021 to train this distributed team in one centralized place. After successfully training over 150 learners in essential hard and soft skills, the company is now leveraging Genie, GoSkills’ AI course creator, to scale compliance training online. By transforming internal policies into structured microlearning, ARD is making compliance easier to deliver, track, and manage.

The challenge: A training model that couldn’t keep up

Before 2021, ARD’s HR team relied on a traditional “room and a PowerPoint” model, coordinating small groups at various facilities to walk through internal policies. While this worked for a smaller headcount, it couldn’t scale with the company’s growth.

As Andre described it:

Before, our HR team would set up compliance training in small groups throughout our facilities and use PowerPoints. We would do it in person.

This manual approach created three distinct bottlenecks:

  • Inconsistency: Maintaining the same level of delivery across multiple sites was difficult.
  • Invisibility: Without a centralized system, tracking who had completed which annual requirement was a “manual nightmare.”
  • Friction: Training competed directly with day-to-day responsibilities, leading to low participation.

1. The compliance content creation bottleneck

To modernize, ARD didn’t just need a digital library; they needed a way to turn their own internal expertise into a format that respected their leaders’ schedules.

Compliance wasn't just about delivering lessons — it required converting internal policies, manuals, and presentation materials into structured courses employees could complete independently.

With content requiring regular updates and annual resets, manual course development would have been too time-consuming to maintain.

2. The “no time” hurdle for busy leaders

Even if the content existed, the delivery method remained a barrier. Compliance training is essential, but ARD’s leaders needed a way to complete it without blocking hours for scheduled meetings.

When training depended on live sessions, it often competed with floor responsibilities, making participation harder to sustain.

As Andre put it:

I get a lot of leaders saying, ‘I don't have time in the day to do it.’

To reduce this friction, training needed to be accessible, bite-sized, and available on demand.

3. The “nightmare” of manually tracking training

The lack of a centralized system made it challenging to identify gaps, follow up consistently, or plan for annual compliance cycles. In-person training made it nearly impossible to maintain consistent delivery across sites or track completion rates reliably.

Since adopting the GoSkills Learning Management System (LMS) in 2021, visibility into learner progress has been a major advantage. As ARD began scaling, that insight became even more critical, giving Andre a clear, automated way to track completion and follow up quickly.

What ARD needed

To support a scalable compliance program, ARD needed a solution that could:

  • Deliver consistent compliance training across the organization.
  • Convert internal policies and materials into structured digital courses quickly.
  • Give leaders the flexibility to complete training on demand.
  • Make tracking and reporting easier and more reliable.
  • Support annual compliance cycles and recurring updates.

The solution: Deploying compliance training online

In 2025, ARD began piloting compliance training through GoSkills. Rather than relying only on off-the-shelf content, Andre and his training coordinator sought to build courses using their own internal policies, manuals, and resources.

As ARD explored other options, one advantage quickly became clear: GoSkills offered Genie, an AI course creator that made building custom training significantly faster.

Andre noted that other platforms they reviewed did not offer the same AI-powered workflow for uploading internal materials and turning them into structured learning experiences.

1. Using Genie to turn internal knowledge into learning

Genie is built into the GoSkills Course Builder and fully integrated with the GoSkills LMS, providing a single hub for creating custom courses and tracking training progress.

With a single prompt, course creators can generate a complete course draft in minutes, producing a structured outline, lesson content, and quizzes that can be refined using the Course Builder’s editing tools.

Teams can also upload existing training materials, such as PowerPoint decks, policies, and manuals, allowing Genie to tailor course content to internal standards and terminology.

2. Microlearning that leaders can actually finish

A primary goal for ARD was to eliminate the “no time” friction for leadership teams by making training less disruptive.

Using Genie, the team designed courses that followed microlearning best practices from the start, ensuring lessons were short, focused, and built for quick completion between tasks. Andre noted that “most of the lessons last no more than five minutes.”

Early learner feedback reinforced that the shorter format made training easier to navigate:

GoSkills has been very easy to use. I can follow the material and stay on track without training taking over the entire day.

When early versions ran long, the platform made it simple to adjust. Andre shared that while his first round of content was a little lengthy, “it was easy to go through the GoSkills platform and shorten the courses” to better fit the flow of the workday.

3. Built-in quizzes to reinforce understanding

Compliance requires more than just delivery; it requires validation. With Genie, ARD created courses that included quizzes and knowledge checks to confirm learners understood what to apply on the job.

Andre shared that Genie supported this workflow from start to finish:

We use Genie for the entire course.

The result was training that was simple to maintain but easy to validate and track.

4. Centralized management for total visibility

Moving compliance into GoSkills provided something that in-person delivery could not: consistent tracking and clear visibility across all locations.

With everything centralized in the LMS, Andre could instantly see who had completed training and where follow-up was needed.

We were able to use the learning management system to track it, and that was huge — being able to see who’s finished and who hasn’t.

5. A repeatable testing loop to ensure quality

To maintain accuracy while scaling, ARD built a review cycle into its workflow. After a course was created, the team tested it internally or with a small pilot group before rolling it out more broadly.

This feedback loop allowed ARD to catch issues early and refine the learning experience quickly. GoSkills supports this iteration with customizable feedback forms that help teams validate course clarity and accuracy over time.

The results: Custom compliance courses and up to 96% completion

The shift to Genie-powered compliance training delivered strong results, increasing participation and completion while making training easier to manage across ARD’s teams.

In 2025 alone, ARD Logistics created and published eight custom compliance courses using Genie. These covered key HR and safety topics such as Harassment Prevention, Ethics, Workplace Violence Prevention, and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) Compliance, among others.

Every course followed a consistent, high-impact microlearning format:

  • Bite-sized delivery: Most courses included three to ten lessons.
  • Time-efficient: Lessons averaged just five minutes in length.
  • Validated learning: Quizzes were integrated throughout to reinforce understanding.

The impact of this shift was clear: across these Genie-built courses, ARD achieved an average completion rate of 89%. To ensure this high level of follow-through without adding to the administrative workload, Andre utilized the GoSkills LMS to assign courses with due dates and send automated reminders — keeping leaders on track without the need for manual follow-up.

Course title Number of lessons Average lesson duration Average number of quiz questions per lesson Completion rate (2025)
5 S The Only Way to Be Great 7 5 min 3 77%
Harassment Prevention Training 6 5 min 3 87%
Mastering Equal Employment Opportunity 9 5 min 3 89%
Creating a Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace 6 5 min 3 96%
Ethics Essentials: Navigating Business Compliance 3 5 min 3 88%
Understanding and Preventing Workplace Violence 10 5 min 3 91%
FMLA: A Beginner's Guide to Compliance 7 5 min 3 95%
Creating a Culture of Dignity and Respect 5 5 min 3 93%

Why these results matter

For a compliance program previously tethered to in-person sessions, this shift represented more than just a new tool — it was a move toward a truly scalable model. By digitizing the experience, ARD removed the logistical burden of coordinating schedules and facilities.

We have gained more success with it by going digital and being more technology savvy.

— Andre Hollings, Senior Training Manager

The new format fundamentally changed how training interacted with the workday. Compliance no longer required pulling leaders away from the floor; instead, it became a flexible, "at your leisure" experience that respected their time.

Learner feedback consistently reinforced this value, with participants describing the training as “informative,” “good information,” and a “great refresher”.

Continuous improvement: Strengthening quality through agility

One of the most significant advantages of the digital shift was the ability to implement a repeatable testing and review loop.

Because the training was built digitally, updates were instantaneous. Using the Course Builder’s content block editor, the team could:

  • Revise course text and adjust lesson structure in real-time.
  • Correct quiz questions and relaunch improved versions immediately.
  • Maintain quality across all locations without the need for repeat in-person sessions.

This agility allowed ARD to maintain a high standard of course quality while scaling compliance training efficiently across multiple sites.

What your team can learn from ARD’s success

ARD’s shift from in-person compliance sessions to scalable digital training offers a clear playbook for organizations looking to modernize compliance without creating a heavy administrative burden. Here are five lessons worth borrowing:

1. Start with a pilot before scaling organization-wide

ARD didn’t try to transform its entire program overnight. By piloting the training in 2025, the team could work through early improvements and build confidence in the process before expanding. This approach validates content and establishes a repeatable workflow before a full rollout.

2. Build compliance content from your own internal knowledge

Rather than relying solely on off-the-shelf content, ARD used its own policies, manuals, and PowerPoint-based materials as the foundation for compliance training online. With Genie, these resources were transformed into structured digital courses that remained consistent across all sites.

3. Make compliance easier to complete with microlearning and knowledge checks

ARD’s leaders consistently reported they didn't have time for long training sessions. By designing short, focused lessons reinforced with quizzes, ARD made compliance easier to fit into real workdays and significantly easier to finish.

4. Use AI to reduce friction across the learning process

ARD used AI to solve one of L&D’s biggest bottlenecks: course creation. While Genie helped scale content without adding manual workload, other features like the AI Tutor and Admin Assistant on GoSkills can further reduce friction, allowing teams to spend less time troubleshooting and more time enabling learning.

5. Centralize training and tracking to simplify management

One of the biggest barriers to scale is inconsistent tracking. Centralizing training inside the GoSkills LMS gave ARD clear visibility into completions, reminders, and gaps across teams, making it simple to manage compliance cycles and maintain consistency across locations.

Conclusion

By adopting Genie and the GoSkills LMS, ARD Logistics transformed a once manual, meeting-heavy compliance model into a scalable digital system built for real-world schedules.

With the ability to turn internal policies into complete learning experiences in minutes, ARD has modernized its compliance without adding complexity. Their journey proves that the key to scaling training lies in using AI to streamline creation, embracing microlearning to respect busy schedules, and centralizing management in one platform.
