1. How do you get to the following options?
Developer Tab --> Visual Basic Editor --> Options --> Macro Security
File --> Options --> Trust Center --> Trust Center Settings --> Trusted Locations
File --> Options --> Trust Center --> Trust Center Settings --> Macro Settings
2. What is the best way to ensure that macros you trust will run while others prompt you to enable them?
Leave security set as “Disable all macros with notification”
Add the folder containing the solution as a Trusted Location
Change the Macro settings to “Enable all macros”
3. You have trusted a folder on your network and someone has placed a file inside with VBA that creates new code on the fly. You did not, however, trust access to the VBA object model. What will happen when you open the file?
The code will run, but since you did not trust access to the VBA object model the code will throw an error when trying to create VBA in the target workbook.
You will get prompted that there are macros in the file and can decide if you want to run it or not. If you say yes, the macro will run and will compromise any open workbook(s).
Because you opened a file from a trusted location, the code will run and deliver its payload to the other workbooks you have open.
