We have another great challenge lined up for you! This time we’ll be summarizing a large data table by selected categories. That summary will be in the form of an interactive chart that allows us to group or expand categories at will.

Here’s what to do:

  1. Watch the challenge video
  2. Download the Excel worksheet
  3. Complete the challenge tasks

The Challenge

Here’s the scenario:

This list of customers has too much detail for the General Manager. He’s more interested in an overview. He wants to be able to view how many customers we have in each country, broken down by basic, standard, and premium subscriptions.

You’re the Excel expert in the office, so he wants you to do the following:

  • Create an interactive chart that summarizes this data.
  • The chart should enable the manager to see whatever country or level he is interested in at that moment.
  • He would prefer to see Basic, Standard, and Premium, in that order, if you can manage it.

So, can you? You can use this GoSkills video as a starting point for your solution:

We have lots more free pivot table resources available. Go to GoSkills.com, search for anything you like, and brag about your solution on our Slack channel. Then tune in next week for our solution. Download the file to get started.
