Lavanya Vijayan

Lavanya Vijayan is a Technical Curriculum Architect and Data Science Instructor at Madecraft. Lavanya has authored several programming and data science courses for LinkedIn Learning. She has also developed technical curriculum for Google’s Advanced Data Analytics and Cybersecurity career certifications.

Lavanya has a Master’s degree in Information and Data Science from UC Berkeley.

Lavanya is passionate about educational equity and improving access to quality education.

She volunteers her time as Co-Founder at Afro Fem Coders, a nonprofit organization that empowers girls and women in Sub-Saharan African countries with coding skills and tech mentorship. In the past, she has also been a coding instructor at The Coder School Berkeley, and a Math and French tutor at Berkeley High School’s Bridge program, which serves first-generation low-income students of color.

Lavanya enjoys developing curriculum, building data-driven tools to help both educators and learners, and teaching young people the skills they need to achieve their dreams and make the world a better place.
