- 00:05 Hello everyone, welcome back to Essential Productivity.
- 00:08 My name's Francesco, and in this GoSkills course we are specifically today
- 00:12 gonna be covering Trello and how to create your own editorial calendar.
- 00:16 Now it's important when you're creating content to keep track of it.
- 00:20 I do YouTube, so I'm planning always in advance, using resources like Trello and
- 00:25 Evernote to really get ahead of my content plan.
- 00:28 Now I mentioned a little bit how I plan in Evernote,
- 00:30 however, I do organize occasionally inside of Trello.
- 00:34 I know a lot of people who do organize inside of Trello,
- 00:36 because it's very beneficial way to start planning and
- 00:40 start plotting all of the ideas that you're having.
- 00:43 We're here on a fresh board and
- 00:44 editorial calendar to look at a few ways that you can get started.
- 00:48 Whether you're looking to create your own first ever blog.
- 00:50 Or your YouTube channel, or even a podcast or something even smaller than that.
- 00:55 That you want to use as a way to tell the world about all of
- 00:58 the things that you've learned, then this might be helpful for you.
- 01:02 I've created five, in total, different lists.
- 01:05 Ideas, so these are all the ideas you're gonna come up with.
- 01:08 So, for example, for my channel I wanna cover TickTick,
- 01:11 which is an application that I need to review.
- 01:13 And I also need to do a standing desk video.
- 01:16 These are all ideas, you can start dumping them there and
- 01:19 over time slowly bring them across here.
- 01:21 So let's say I started the TickTick one.
- 01:24 And you can start adding in previous ones that you've started or
- 01:28 you're actually doing.
- 01:29 Which means you're filming it.
- 01:30 So maybe, in my case, I'm in filming, that's a stage of filming, so,
- 01:34 at the moment I'm filming How I use Trello feature.
- 01:38 So, I'm going to put that one there.
- 01:40 And along, I've got editing,
- 01:42 so I'm editing at the moment another piece about meditation resources.
- 01:46 And finally Finished, so this is a good way to capture all of the finished pieces
- 01:49 that you've done and worked on.
- 01:51 The good thing is, of course, you can drag them from here.
- 01:54 But the real magic is inside of the functions inside these applications.
- 01:57 So, let's say, I want to keep track of the resources.
- 02:01 So for example, TickTick, just grabbing the URL, I want to save it in here,
- 02:04 there we go.
- 02:05 And now TickTick is available to click into when I'm at the top of my
- 02:09 Trello card.
- 02:10 So you've also got here as well, you can add attachments.
- 02:13 You can add anything from designs to thumbnails for your images.
- 02:16 So for example, this is one I finished for
- 02:19 example Timork, which is sort of a ToDo List & Pomodoro App.
- 02:23 But if I hit the attachment, and I go and click Computer, and
- 02:28 I find the attachment which I am talking about, so this looks like it, 23.
- 02:34 Yep, this looks like it, which is the attachment for the thumbnail.
- 02:37 So this is going to be uploading.
- 02:39 And as you can see it comes up full-bleed.
- 02:41 That comes up finished and it looks really good.
- 02:43 So, once I finish them, I can be like, that's the finished product there.
- 02:47 And maybe I wanted to include the full URL.
- 02:50 So I'll just pop over to YouTube, grabbing the URL, and just pop it back here.
- 02:56 So that I have a finished result here, and
- 02:58 it's all available to view at any given time.
- 03:01 So I've got this steady progress, and let's say I'm progressing through, and
- 03:05 I wanna actually have a due date for this one.
- 03:07 So let's say I want it tomorrow, for
- 03:09 example, then it will come up tomorrow due, which is great.
- 03:12 So if I want to go back here and
- 03:14 I want to go to Power-Ups, scroll down to Calendar, activate the calendar.
- 03:20 Once I click Calendar, I can see that, okay, meditation apps is due this week.
- 03:24 I should focus on that one and
- 03:26 try and get it over here if I can to the finished section.
- 03:28 So this is actually a pretty neat way in organizing all of your content,
- 03:32 it's a very efficient way and very productive.
- 03:35 And of course you can modify all of the lists.
- 03:37 You can change the background as well and create any image that you'd like.
- 03:40 So, if you're a YouTuber and you want the filming,
- 03:43 then there might be a few photos for you there that might be more relevant.
- 03:47 I hope this gave you a overview of how you can use Trello as an editorial calendar.
- 03:52 We'll include some more tips and tricks inside of the exercise area.
- 03:56 This is something that I'm sure you can go a lot deeper with.
- 03:59 I'll see you in next section, which will cover a few other resources.
