Open a spreadsheet Pop open a new spreadsheet instantly. Your current Excel sheet will not close and you will have the option to choose what kind of sheet you wish to open (either new or previously saved.) Ctrl O O
Close a spreadsheet Closes the current workbook file. If there are any unsaved changes, you will be prompted to save or not. Ctrl W W
Create new spreadsheet Open up a completely new Excel sheet. You can choose from a number of options from traditional spreadsheet to a more specific sheet, such as one designed for budgeting. Ctrl N N
Save a spreadsheet Save you work with ease at anytime. If you haven’t previously saved your spreadsheet, you will be given the option to both name and place it where you like on your computer. Ctrl S S
Save "as" Save a document with a new specific name or to a new folder it was not previously placed in. F12 Shift S
Print a file Ready to view your work on paper? Open up your print options instantly from Excel using this shortcut. Ctrl P P
Open print preview If you wish to see a snapshot of what your Excel sheet will look like on paper, this shortcut will open up a print preview. Ctrl F2 P
Close Excel Quit out of Excel although. You will be prompted to save all unsaved spreadsheets before the quit occurs. Alt F4 Q
