Group Selection

When cells are grouped together, you can do everything from creating graphs and pivot tables to extracting numerous other forms of both visual and text-based information. Shortcuts within this section will help you add cells to your selection whether they are adjacent to the active cell, or on the opposite side of the spreadsheet.

Extend selection to the right Add the cell to the right of that which you already have clicked on to your selection. This shortcut can be used multiple times to gain control of a group of cells you wish to edit/use to build a chart or table. Shift Shift
Extend selection to the left Add the cell to the left of that which you already have clicked on to your selection. This shortcut can be used multiple times to gain control of a group of cells you wish to edit/use to build a chart or table. Shift Shift
Extend selection down Add the cell below that which you already have clicked on to your selection. This shortcut can be used multiple times to gain control of a group of cells you wish to edit/use to build a chart or table. Shift Shift
Extend selection up Add the cell above that which you already have clicked on to your selection. This shortcut can be used multiple times to gain control of a group of cells you wish to edit/use to build a chart or table. Shift Shift
Extend current selection to the right edge of data This shortcut follows the same concept of extending your selection, but does so on a larger scale. Use this shortcut when you have a data-filled cell selected and you will instantly select all filled cells to the right. If the cell you are working on is empty, all blank cells to the end of the spreadsheet will be selected. Ctrl Shift Control Shift
Extend current selection to the left edge of data This shortcut follows the same concept of extending your selection, but does so on a larger scale. Use this shortcut when you have a data-filled cell selected and you will instantly select all filled cells to the left If the cell you are working on is empty, all blank cells to the end of the spreadsheet will be selected. Extend current selection to the bottom edge of data This shortcut follows the same concept of extending your selection, but does so on a larger scale. Use this shortcut when you have a data-filled cell selected and you will instantly select all filled cells below. If the cell you are working on is empty, all blank cells to the end of the spreadsheet will be selected. Ctrl Shift Control Shift
Extend current selection to the top edge of data This shortcut follows the same concept of extending your selection, but does so on a larger scale. Use this shortcut when you have a data-filled cell selected and you will instantly select all filled cells above. Extend selection to one screen right If you would like to mass-select cells to right of the one you have already selected, this shortcut will select one screen of cells to the right. Alt Shift PgUp Fn Shift Down

Extend selection to one screen up If you would like to mass-select cells to right of the one you have already selected, this shortcut will select one screen of cells to the right. Shift PgDn Fn Shift Down
Extend selection to row start This shortcut allows you to select all data within cells located from that which you have selected already to the beginning of the row you are working in. Shift Home Fn Shift
Extend selection to first active cell Wherever you are working and have a cell selected, this shortcut will add to your control all cells to the beginning of your spreadsheet that have data. Ctrl Shift Home Fn Control Shift
Extend selection to last active cell Wherever you are working and have a cell selected, this shortcut will add to your control all cells that have data until the end of your spreadsheet. Ctrl Shift End Fn Control Shift
Activate extend selection mode Using this shortcut activates the extend selection mode which allows you to easily use the arrow keys to add cells adjacent to the one you have selected already. Simply use the shortcut again to turn this mode off. F8 Fn F8
