1. What do Excel’s Outlining Tools do?
Draw borders around data.
Hide rows and columns from users.
Allow spreadsheet sections to be grouped and compressed via easy-to-use controls.
2. Suppose cells B24:B25 are grouped so they can be compressed to show the value in B26. When expanded, B26 has a top and bottom border on the cell. When compressed the top border disappears, but the bottom one doesn’t. Where are these borders applied?
B25 and B26 both have bottom borders only.
B25 has a top border and B27 has a top border.
Both the top and bottom border are applied on B26.
3. Suppose rows 10:12 are grouped, as are rows 20:40 and 25:30. Which is the best method to show all the data rows?
Go to the Data tab and choose Ungroup and then Clear Outline.
Click all the little + icons.
Click the 3 in the outline.
